Students will connect their leadership class with a science fiction movie they will be watching called The Martian and will identify three of the main characters and relate it to the theme of organic problem solving leadership and applying that to transformation concepts and methods.

Choosing Mind Map template software provides them with a graphic organizer that helps them integrate their thoughts and provides guidance to insight, what they need to think, and a foundation for explaining abstractly the leadership dynamics that are going on.

There is no one explanation but Mind Map provides a framework to follow to identify, peel back the layers in the story and reveal the underlying relations, systems, concepts and characteristics of a problem solving organic leadership style. Mind Map allows them to be immersed in and see the complexities rather than just paper and text. For the most part they can independently choose their own templates and be self directed.

Students will watch the movie Martian. They will identify three of the characters in the movie who demonstrate Organic Problem Solving Technical Leadership.

They will use Edraw Mind Map to identify ways in which these characters identify the Outcome and the Impact of that Outcome and the steps the characters take in the transformation to experience what they value.
