ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY -BASIC PRINCIPLES OF CHROMATOGRAPHY AND OPERATIONAL TECHNIQUES OF HPLC AND GC

This is a first semester analytical chemistry course taught at Higher National Diploma Class. Students are provided links to online resources (Videos, textbooks) to enable them understand operational techniques and basic principles of chromatography and hence be able to identify the different components of High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC). Identify how HPLC differs from GC. Links of videos and animation of operations of these techniques are provided.
Resources required are mobile devices/laptops, internet access and WhatsApp .
Continuous/formative assessment (Quizzes created) will be used to assess the students understanding . Groups of students will be given generated codes to join the quiz and click on homework to take the quiz at myquizziz.com. This assessment can also be linked to a suitable LMS available at an institution.
